As a mother of three young children (read hurricanes), and an Ironman distance triathlete, I know firsthand, how challenging it can be to follow a training program. Any training program.

Sometimes it is those 20 mins we get to ourselves that our best thinking happens. Sometimes it is those 20 mins that we recharge our batteries, and dig into our own happiness well. At least that's how my journey to Ironman started after having gone through postpartum depression and almost three years of being unable to run due to bilateral plantar fasciitis. But that is another story.

Sometimes those 20 mins is all we have.

Flexibility and adaptive training plans are the keys to successfully training for our events. I have trained athletes of all ages for over 20 years, helping them reach their goals in sports. Often I hear them tell me how their training has prepared them to perform better in other areas of their lives, like in business and at home.

Flexibility means that you should be able to change and adapt to the conditions at hand. Your meeting drags on and you can't get to your workout early enough. Now what? Let's give you the flexibility to do a short HIIT-based workout instead of 90 min long run. But how do you know when to swop and to what? I believe that you should be able to ask questions to whoever your coach is, and that is why your plan comes with email access to your coach. We would also love you to join our private Facebook page for educational resources and opportunities to meet like-minded people.
